We were incredibly fortunate to get to know Deo while visiting Tanzania in 2022. Deo was, by far, the absolute best guide we experienced during our two-week amazing adventure in Kenya and Tanzania. His vast knowledge of our natural environment and all of its creatures and animals is awesome. There literally wasn’t a question we asked him that he didn’t have a thorough, expert, thoughtful, and entertaining answer for. We could happily listen to him talk all day. Deo is kind, energetic, humble, fun, and exceptional in every way. He has an uncanny ability to know where to go to witness the most majestic settings and wildlife of the Serengeti. Deo can literally spot a leopard lounging in a tree from miles and miles away. He is highly educated, a graduate of Kilimanjaro University, and has a fascinating background. Deo is a true humanitarian. Please ask him to share all the good he has done for the village where he was raised as well as for neighboring villages. His contributions range from helping bring clean water to building classrooms. Having the pleasure of his company during our trip-of-a-lifetime vacation was THE highlight. We are honored to call him a friend and three years later we are still in touch. We are looking very forward to seeing Deo again on our upcoming return trip to Tanzania in the spring of 2025.

My daughter and I booked a private safari with Deo and he took care of every detail of the trip with great attention to our requests. We saw more lions, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas and cheetahs than I ever could have imagined. His expertise regarding the Serengeti was remarkable- every question was answered with incredible knowledge and detail. My husband will be flying to Tanzania to visit our daughter next month and we have already booked Deo for another safari. Deo started as a guide and in the end came out as a life long friend!

I had such an incredible time on my safari in Tanzania, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Deo. A safari truly depends on the guide, and Deo made ours an unforgettable adventure. Tarangire was our first stop, and we saw so many wildlife right from the start. Standing in the middle of a huge elephant herd, watching lions sleeping up in the trees, and ending the day with the most beautiful sundowners – it was just amazing. Deo has such a great eye for wildlife and always knew where to go. Plus, he’s just a really fun and knowledgeable person to be around. If you’re planning a safari, I can only recommend going with him!

In summer of 2019, we had the pleasure of traveling to Tanzania.  We traveled the country, visiting several Asara properties and had various guides.  However, there was one guide that stood out to us.  One guide that was just so special.  One guide that we when we left he was no longer just our guide, but a friend.  Deo was so knowledgable and seemed to know more than any of the other guides we had.  He was so personable and an amazing storyteller.  His ability to find and locate animals was like none other.  With Deo we saw Rhino, Lions (multiple prides, baby lions and a pair of handsome brothers), wildebeasts, elephants, leopards, hippos, crocs and the list goes on.  We felt safe and we trusted Deo at all times.  He told us that some day he hoped to own his own Landrover and have his own guide company.  Years later when we had friends going to Tanzania, we knew exactly who to reach out to.  We were thrilled to find that Deo now owned his own Landrover and was leading his own tours.  I think what I was most impressed with was his ability to recount numberous advertures that we had together on our tour.  Things that I thought were only etched in my families memory - he also remembered!  He is truly amazing and we dream of the day that we will go back to Tanzania to visit Deo again!  I highly recommend Deo as someone who will make anyones trip to Tanzana that much more special.

An eagerly expected trip to Tanzania for a 5-day versatile safari, ended up overcoming by a huge margin everything we ever dreamt of! It was our second safari, so already our expectations were gauged as we loved our first one. Alas, Deo managed to become a talking point for us for years up to now!! Being very curious, very demanding and very resilient travelers, I can guarantee there is absolutely NOT ONE question that Deo does not know the answer to whilst on a safari! He would go on for the full day with us, laughing, explaining, trying, insisting, offering his help and contextual stories and his much needed humor and intuition! We ended up seeing multiples of every animal imagined.... enjoying a giraffe embellished sunset, a baobab-treehouse lunch, a fireplace dinner in the wild.. following animals for hours to witness the full circle of a chase and a habit, watching lions reproduce, discovering tribes in the wild and learning how they hunt and eat. I can say more and more and more.. few years later, I always wished I'd have the chance to support Deo in any possible way, and this review is merely a start! I can vividly remember asking him all kinds of detailed stuff, only to learn more and more. He is truly and without a trace of exaggeration living and breathing Africa, Tanzania, the wild. A safari with Deo..: There is no such experience ever, nor will ever be, all details will be covered, and it will be the most fun time of everyone's life!
